The initial idea for this city and its characters came to me while watching Chicago Fire. I loved the camaraderie between the characters and the intersecting storylines and desired to incorporate them into my books. Think interconnected series, but on a larger scale.

Thus, the city of Brighton Heights, a semi-quick-paced metro area full of first responders, doctors, athletes, and so on, who all represent and look like me, was born.

Rich in spirit, culture, and melanin, Brighton Heights is the perfect place to kick off your Skye Moon library.

Ember, the first book in the series, dropped as a test in 2020, and I had no idea where this project would go. Three years later, I've learned endless lessons and have created so many unforgettable characters that I have to write them down to keep up!

Welcome to Brighton Heights.

The Series

(so far)

Ember

“Before him, I felt like I was drowning. And no matter how hard I tried to push myself to the surface, the waves kept coming and pushing me back under. Figuratively speaking, it feels like he saved me.”

Book 1 in the series follows Danica White and Keaghan Tucker; two lost souls struggling to cope with their grief.

Ignited

“I tried to walk away from you because I wanted you. But now I know that I need you. I love you, M&M.”

Book 2 in the series follows Miesha White and Pierce Williams; two individuals hell-bent on avoiding love, unaware that they’re on the path to finding it in each other.

Ten/Twenty

“As troublesome as you are, I’m sure there will never be a moment when I’m not hunting your busybody ass down or saving you from something.”

Book 3 in the series follows the troublesome Brooke Williams and the overly serious Aesir Matthews as the navigate a grumpy/sunshine situation that blossoms into romance.

Soul Ties

“We’re both a fucking mess,” Kenyon rasped. “But there’s nobody I’m ever gonna want more than you.”

Book 4 in the series is the second-chance, forced-proximity romance between Iniko Paolucci and Kenyon Alexander.
